Five South Korean children were among 11 children killed on Tuesday in a car accident in Shandong Province, local authorities said.
地方政府表示，周二发生于山东省的一场车祸造成11名孩子死亡，其中有五名是韩国孩子。
The Weihai government’s Sina Weibo account said on Tuesday that the accident took place at 9 am Tuesday in the Taojiakuang Tunnel. One of the vehicles burst into flames, killing 12 people and left one person seriously injured.
威海政府新浪微博账号于周二指出，此次事故于周二上午九点发生于陶家夼隧道。其中一车辆着火，致12人死亡，一人重伤。
The government said the kindergarten run by the Weihai Zhongshi South Korean International School rented a vehicle to pick up children from Weihai Torch High-Tech Science Park. The government statement said 11 children ranging from three to six years old were killed in the accident, five of whom were South Koreans and six Chinese. A Chinese driver was also killed, while a kindergarten teacher was seriously injured.
政府表示，中世韩国国际学校幼儿园租了一辆车到威海火炬高科技园接孩子。政府声明称，11名年龄三至六岁的孩子在事故中丧生，其中五名为韩国人，六名为中国人。一名中国司机死亡，一名幼儿园老师重伤。
The Weihai government said it is investigating the cause of the accident.
威海政府正在调查此次事故的原因。
South Korea’s Yonhap News Agency on Tuesday quoted the South Korean Embassy in Beijing as saying that 10 South Korean children were killed.
韩国韩联社于周二援引韩国驻北京大使馆的话报道，10名韩国孩子丧生。
Yonhap reported that acting South Korean president and Prime Minister Hwang Kyo-ahn expressed "grave sadness" over the deaths. Hwang has directed the South Korean foreign ministry to mobilize "all diplomatic resources" to handle the accident and keep the victims’ families informed.
韩联社报道，代行总统、总理黄教安对此次死亡事故“深表悲痛”。黄教安指示韩国外交部动用“一切外交资源”处理此事，并通知遇难者家属。
Weihai hosts over 700 South Korean companies including Hyundai, Samsung and Lotte, according to the China News Service.
据中新社报道，威海有700余家韩国公司，包括现代、三星和乐天。
